Blog on Kochi City

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode) has inaugurated its new Kochi Campus at Kalamassery, strengthening its presence in Kerala's commercial capital. Located adjacent to the CUSAT Metro Station on NH 66, the Urban Learning Centre offers excellent connectivity for students, professionals and industry experts. Developed by Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL), the campus reflects a growing focus on world-class educational infrastructure.

Modern Campus with Smart Learning Facilities

Spread across 40,000 square feet, the six-storey campus features a contemporary design built with glass and pre-engineered steel. It houses technology-enabled smart classrooms, digital teaching infrastructure, collaborative learning spaces, a modern library, cafeteria and dedicated student interaction areas. The campus has also been designed to support hybrid and digitally connected learning.

Courses Offered at the Kochi Campus

The new campus will initially offer the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) and the Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP). In the coming years, IIM Kozhikode plans to expand its academic portfolio with executive education programmes, specialised management courses, industry collaborations and technology-driven learning initiatives.

Gurukula Learning Concept

A key highlight of the new campus is the dedicated "Gurukula" learning space. Inspired by India's traditional learning model, it promotes discussion-based, collaborative education where students actively engage with faculty and peers, creating a more interactive learning experience.

A Strategic Addition to Kerala's Education Ecosystem

The new Kochi campus marks the next phase of IIM Kozhikode's expansion, building on its presence in the city since 2012. With its prime location, modern infrastructure and industry-focused programmes, the campus is set to become an important destination for management education, executive learning and innovation in Kerala.
